Automatic monthly data updates
Cash in Circulation data for Sweden, Poland, Ukraine, Argentina, Australia, Colombia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Mexico is now pulled automatically on a monthly basis, keeping these countries current without manual re-imports.
We've also added a "Data as of" field, showing the true reporting period of the underlying data (as opposed to when it was last imported). This isn't limited to the automated countries above — any newly updated dataset, wherever it comes from, will show this field going forward.
Full transparency on data sources
We're rolling out a comments section documenting where a country's numbers come from — whether pulled live from a central bank feed, transcribed directly from published tables, or derived from annual report percentage breakdowns, including any calculations, known gaps, or limitations in coverage. Not every country has this yet; we're filling it in progressively rather than retrofitting everything at once, so expect more countries to get this detail over time.
Economic Indicators
World Bank Group released year 2025 for some of its indicators - Population, Adult Population, GDP, GDP per Capita, CPI and year 2024 for ATMs per 100,000 Adults, Bank Branches per 100,000 Adults.
Keep refering to this announcement as we update it as soon as a new country is added to DataVault Cash.
New: Counterfeit Statistics on Country Pages
We've started rolling out Banknote Counterfeit Statistics on country pages, sourced directly from central bank annual reports and publications. This is an ongoing effort — coverage currently spans around 58 countries, with more being added as we source and verify the data.
- Yearly trend chart and data table showing counterfeits detected, plus PPM (counterfeits per million genuine notes in circulation)
- Denomination breakdown where reported — one line per face value, showing which notes are most targeted
- Direct links to the original source report for each country
Where a central bank publishes only one of the two figures — a raw count or a PPM rate, but not both — DataVault estimates the missing value using DV Cash banknote circulation volume data. Estimated figures are clearly marked with an “est.” badge, so you can always tell an official published figure from a DataVault estimate.
Browse countries with counterfeit data available so far via the new Counterfeits link under the Banknotes menu.
