The Dashboard

The Dashboard is your starting point when you log in to DataVault. It provides a quick overview of the database and easy access to all major sections of the application. The current DataVault version number is shown next to the page title.

Quick Stats Cards

The row of coloured cards at the top of the dashboard shows the headline counts for each DataVault module. Every card is clickable and takes you directly to the relevant section:

  • Banknotes — Total number of banknote records (visible if your subscription includes banknotes)
  • Coins — Total number of coin records (visible if your subscription includes coins)
  • DV Cash — Number of countries with cash-in-circulation data, marked PREVIEW while the module is being expanded
  • DV Directory — Number of companies in the Supplier Directory
  • Countries — Number of countries covered across all modules
  • Currencies — Number of currencies in the database

Recent Records

The main area of the dashboard lists the most recently added or updated records:

  • Recent Banknotes — The 10 most recent banknotes with country, denomination, year, substrate, and design
  • Recent Coins — The 10 most recent coins with country, denomination, year, shape, and edge

Each row links to the full detail page for that record. A View All button at the bottom of each table jumps to the corresponding browse page.

Sidebar

The right-hand sidebar contains:

  • Announcements — The latest items from the Changelog: software updates, new features, and content additions. Click an item to expand it inline, or use the View All button to open the full Changelog page.
  • Top Substrates — The six most common substrate types used in banknotes (banknotes module only)
  • Coin Shapes — Distribution of coin shapes (coins module only)
  • Coin Metals — Distribution of metals used in coins (coins module only)

Configuration Summary

Below the main content, the Configuration Summary shows reference-data counts as smaller cards — Regions, Sub-Regions, Substrates, Security Features, Coin Shapes, and Metals. Each card links to its respective listing page. Cards are hidden if your subscription does not include the relevant module.

About & Database Coverage

At the very bottom, a two-column panel summarises what DataVault offers and how big the database currently is — the year range of issue data, total records, security feature combinations, and the number of countries with cash data and companies in the directory. It is a quick at-a-glance reference that updates automatically as content grows.
