Click on any banknote in the list to view its full detail page. The detail page provides comprehensive information about the banknote organised into clear sections.
Banknote Information
The main section shows:
- Country and Issuing Authority
- Currency and Denomination
- Year of Issue and Design Change (if applicable)
- Status — Current, superseded, obsolete, or commemorative
- Series Theme — The design theme of the series (e.g., Flora, Heritage)
- Themes — Specific motifs depicted on this note (e.g., Portrait, Monument, Landscape)
- Colours — The dominant colours of the note
Physical Specifications
- Substrate — The material used (e.g., paper, polymer, composite) including brand name and treatment
- Dimensions — Width and height in millimetres
- Orientation — Front and back orientation (horizontal or landscape)
Security Features
If your subscription includes security feature access, this section lists all security features applied to the banknote, including:
- Feature type (print, thread, watermark, applied element)
- Position (front, back, double-sided)
- Format and width
- Effect type (colour change, UV, hologram, etc.)
- Brand name and sub-brand
- Whether it is machine readable
Suppliers
Where known, the suppliers involved in producing the banknote are shown, grouped by role:
- Designer(s) — The studio or organisation that designed the banknote
- Printer(s) — The company that printed the note
- Substrate supplier(s) — The maker of the paper or polymer substrate
- Feature supplier(s) — Suppliers of specific security features (threads, foils, etc.)
Each supplier name links to its company profile in the Supplier Directory, where you can see all banknotes associated with that company.
Awards
If the banknote has won or been nominated for industry awards, the awards section lists each one with:
- Award body (e.g., HSP EMEA, IBNS Banknote of the Year)
- Award category
- Year
- Placement — Winner, Nominee, or Runner-up
